Tai Chi

Tai Chi is an internal martial art. Most styles can be traced to five traditional schools: Yang, Wu, Hao, Sun, and Chen. The two considered the most important, or the most popular, are the Yang style, and the Chen style- respectively. Chen was the traditional (or long-form, as it is called so often) kind of Tai Chi that is often referred to as being both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’- incorporating slow and fast movements together to create a flowing form. Yang omits the ‘hard’ or fast aspects of Chen, replacing it with a shorter, more simplified version of the traditional form. Tai chi benefits the body, mind and spirit and helps one to feel their own energy- something that becomes necessary to achieve greater health.
